FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mark Sawicki has graced the screen from time to time in his varied career. His screen debut was a starring roll in the horror film "The Strangeness". Mark played the nervous nosey writer who followed a group of intrepid spelunkers into a haunted mine. Mark co produced this hard to find cult classic with a group of friends from USC Cinema. It was the 70s and making horror films was the thing to do. "The mine set was literally sheets of crumpled aluminum foil painted to look like rock. You wouldn't dare lean on the set or the whole thing would fall apart" Mark recalled.

His next feature showed Mark's talents as a villain in the film "Brothers of the Wilderness". This is a charming family film about a small boy, his dog, a nugget of gold and the shifty nerdowells that are after the treasure. "As with most of the films I've worked on, this was a weekend wonder where everyone had full time jobs and would go off and make films two days at a time with nothing in the budget for lunch except peanut butter sandwiches." says Mark.
Special effects were booming and Mark found steady employment as an effects cameraman and an animator. The 80s were a great time because it was the beginning of MTV. Mark animated characters and acted in several videos. The video "Stop,Wake Up" featured Mark as a goofy dancer that transforms into a clay version of himself. He also played a security guard in "Nursery Rhymes". Mark worked with the celebrated Wayne Isham and Judas Priest on "Locked In" and "Turbo Lover" videos. Also in his credit list are New Shooz and Rock Doll.
The 90s ushered in a series of features starting with "Steel and Lace" directed by famed effects supervisor Ernest Farino. Mark performed opposite of Bruce Davison the Oscar nominee for "Long Time Companion" and the star of "Willard". Following this picture I had the good fortune to work with the celebrated director Claudia Hoover who directed Charlton Heston among a cast of veteran stars in the hit film "Gideon". "I worked with Claudia on two films "Dogs Bark Blue" and an independent feature that she produced, the latter picture was quite challenging in that I played against type and portrayed a sleazy casting director. "I recall that the sound man, who was a young punker, covered with tattoos and piercings, told me that my performance really creeped him out". said Mark.
